Divest-Invest Philanthropy is an exciting global movement of 140+ foundations and family offices committed to aligning their investment portfolios with their social justice values. Together these institutions manage over $3.4 trillion in assets, and counting! Divest-Invest Philanthropy represents a tremendous opportunity among a community of ethically minded investors to fund and scale the new green economy. However, with the constant push to build the movement and recruit new foundations, Divest-Invest had limited capacity to nurture relationships among the existing signed pledges.
Build direct relationships with Divest-Invest foundations to identify shared challenges and better scale exciting innovations and investment opportunities.
- Conduct in-depth interviews with twenty Divest-Invest foundation executive directors and investment managers over a 1-month period, establishing the groundwork for a community of practice among signatories.
- Collect data from executive directors and investment managers to discover patterns of investment interests across a range of institutions.
- Identify institutional leaders willing to guide their peers to overcome the challenges of divesting from fossil fuels and assist their peers in finding exciting opportunities to reinvest in climate solutions.
- Direct a peer-to-peer recruiting video featuring a founding foundation of Divest-Invest Philanthropy sharing the reasons they joined the movement, published in the Chronicle of Philanthropy.
